– The AFI Los Angeles International Film Festival will use Lasse Hallstrom’s “Casanova” to close the festival, Zap2it.com reports. The film, which stars Heath Ledger, will be the centerpiece of the Nov. 13 closing gala.
– Mekhi Phifer of “8 Mile” and “E.R.” will direct and star in a biopic of R&B singer Al Green, MTV.com reports.
– Michael Vartan of “Alias” may have some time on his hands after what happened to his character in Thursday’s season premiere, but he’ll resurface soon on Fox’s “Kitchen Confidential,” starring ex-castmate Bradley Cooper, who played Will on “Alias.”
