Where, oh where, are my defenses?
The Patriots are the Patsies again, and the Ravens are never more.
It used to be that those defenses could break your opponent’s back faster than playing piggy back with Shaq. Now their owners are the ones carting around Nikki Parker. In a couple of leagues, the Patriots actually have yielded negative points.
On special teams, the big plays are there–or rather almost there. Case in point, the Bills were just 5 yards away from a touchdown when Terrence McGee was tripped after an 82-yard kickoff return. Apparently his last blocker was too busy admiring his form to look forward.
But quirky things tend to happen with defenses and kickers (I know some John Kasay owners may be miffed at coach John “two-point conversion attempt when you’re up 19 points” Fox).
And who would have thought that one of the leading point-getters in some systems would be the San Francisco 49ers?
That’s why you have to focus on getting your points from your bread-and-butter starters. You know who they are. The question is, do they?
