Marilyn L. Crockett, age 83, of Crystal Lake, died Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at her home. She was born on April 15, 1922 in Bucklin, MO, the daughter of Harry and Ansley (Gray) Ames. On August 9, 1941 she married Newell “Dave” Crockett in Kahoka, MO. She was president of Friends of Clearbrook Center of Rolling Meadows for many years. She was very fond of living on Crystal Lake, gardening, and animals, especially cats. She is survived by her husband; two children, Christine (Craig) Skaja of Prairie Grove, and Robert (Bonnie) Crockett of Corte Madera, CA; grandchildren Ansley and David Rogers, and Daniel Ross; a brother William (Georgia) Ames of Sun City, AZ; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Robert Ames. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2005 at the Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake, IL 60014 form 1 to 4 p.m. with a short funeral service at 4 p.m. Interment will be private.
