This is regarding “Museums take up evolution challenge” (Page 1, Oct. 16). Lance Grande, vice president and head of collections and research at the Field Museum, in defense of evolution theory, says a theory that cannot be observed or tested is not science. I agree. Then what have evolutionists to say about the origin of life on Earth, which necessarily precedes evolution? Without a provable explanation of the appearance of life on Earth, discussion of evolution is academic. The most prevalent theory is that life originated in a primordial soup of water and various chemicals, after the Earth had cooled sufficiently for water to condense. If this phenomenon has been tested, the news has been hidden. People who conclude that life can originate spontaneously are speculating.
