Nissan’s Xterra sport-utility vehicle is Motor Trend magazine’s SUV of the year. The vehicle was redesigned for the 2006 model year and this is the second time it has won the award. The Xterra beat out 2006 models of the Ford Explorer, Hummer H3, Hyundai Tucson, Jeep Commander, Kia Sportage, Mercedes-Benz ML, Mercury Mountaineer, Pontiac Torrent, Range Rover Sport, Subaru Tribeca and Suzuki Grand Vitara.
