– Metra is running its annual Santa Safety Trains, which carry Santa Claus into the Chicago area. The schedule is as follows: Dec. 3, Milwaukee West Line leaves Elgin at 9:30 a.m. and Chicago at 11:50 a.m.; Dec. 4, Milwaukee North Line leaves Fox Lake at 10:15 a.m. and Chicago at 1:10 p.m.; Dec. 10, the Heritage Corridor service leaves Joliet at 10 a.m. and Chicago at 1 p.m.; and Dec. 11, the Metra Electric leaves University Park at 8:20 a.m. and Chicago at 11:05 a.m. Fares are $3 for all ages and require advanced purchase. Tickets are available at the stations on each line that have a sales clerk and at the Ogilvie Transportation Center and LaSalle Street Station. Call 312-322-6777.
– The 28th annual Chicagoland Toys for Tots Motorcycle Parade begins at 9:30 a.m. Dec. 4 at Dan Ryan Woods, 85th Street and Western Avenue, Chicago. The parade will proceed up Western to the Marine Reserve Center at Foster Avenue and Troy Street.
