If Jay-Z has 99 problems, then commitment is one.
The rapper opened up to Rolling Stone magazine about his personal life–and may have given some insight into why he hasn’t married superstar girlfriend Beyonce (as far as we know).
He said he “became more guarded” after his father left his family more than 20 years ago, according to excerpts in the New York Daily News. “I never wanted to be attached to something and get that taken away again. And it affects my relationship with women. ‘Cause even when I was with women, I wasn’t really with them.”
As for his relationship with Beyonce, Jay says he’s ready to be a dad in “the next five years.”
