– Ford is recalling about 235,000 2006 Ford E-150, E-250, E-350 and E-450 vans, Ford Escape, Expedition and Explorer SUVs, Ford F-150 and Ranger pickups and Taurus sedans; Lincoln Navigator SUVs and Lincoln Mark LT pickups; and Mercury Mountaineer and Mariner SUVs because of problems with the windshield wiper motor. 11-27-05
– Ford is recalling about 98,000 2005 Ford Crown Victoria, Lincoln Town Car and Mercury Grand Marquis sedans over concerns that a battery cable was rubbing against the vehicle frame, potentially causing fires. 11-20-05
– Ford is recalling more than 123,000 2005 Ford Freestyle crossovers and Ford Five Hundred and Mercury Montego sedans because a strap that could separate, causing the fuel tank to drop. 11-20-05
– Honda is recalling about 25,000 2006 Civics because the accelerator pedal was improperly installed. 11-13-05
– General Motors is recalling about 100,000 2002-03 Chevrolet TrailBlazer EXT and GMC Envoy XL models and the 2003 Isuzu Ascender because corrosion can affect latches on the two back doors, potentially allowing them to open while the vehicle is in motion. 11-06-05
– Nissan is recalling 109,437 2004-06 Quest minivans because a person adjusting its second-row seat could have a finger pinched. 10-23-05
– Toyota is recalling about 71,000 2005-06 Scion tC coupes. The glass wind deflector over the car’s moonroof can be damaged when it is tilted up. 10-23-05
– Chrysler is recalling 2005 Jeep Liberty, Jeep Wrangler, Chrysler 300 and Dodge Magnum, Dodge Dakota/Mitsubishi Raider pickups and Dodge Durango vehicles some 6-cylinder engines and automatic transmissions. A plug in the transmission may be missing or improperly staked, potentially preventing the driver from placing the shifter in the “park” position. 10-16-05
– Mazda is halting sales of the 2006 Mazda5 and recalling 2,700 because an exhaust-system problem can cause fires. 10-2-05
– Jeep is recalling more than 100,000 2005 Grand Cherokee SUVs because water contamination of the transmission fluid could lead to fires. 9-25-05
– Hyundai will recall 240,000 2004-05 Elantra sedans because the computer that operates the air-bag system could confuse a child seat for an adult in the front passenger seat and deploy front and bags in a crash. 9-18-05
– Ford is recalling 3.8 million 1994-02 Ford F-150s and Expeditions, Lincoln Navigators and Ford Broncos to replace a cruise control switch. 9-11-05
– Toyota is recalling 978,000 4Runner SUVs and T-100 pickups built between 1989 and 1998 to repair the power-steering system. 9-11-05
– GM is recalling about 800,000 1999-02 Chevrolet and Tahoe and GMC Yukon and Yukon XL SUVs and Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickup trucks in 14 northern states because corrosion is affecting the ABS. 9-4-05
– Honda is recalling 85,154 2005 Odyssey minivans because of a faulty sensor for the front air-bag system. 8-7-05
