Nothing stirs up controversy like a good old “best of” music list right before the holidays.
The hip-hop reporters at mtv.com stirred up some controversy (mostly among themselves) by making a list of the 10 greatest hip-hop albums of all time. Their top three: Eric B. & Rakim’s (above) “Paid in Full,” Nas’ “Illmatic” and Dr. Dre’s “The Chronic.”
But no Snoop Dogg “Doggystyle”? To quote the great Whitney Houston: Aw hell to the no!
Not to be outdone, Rolling Stone named its top 5 albums of the year.
