What would Mike Royko have said about Field’s becoming Macy’s or the Berghoff closing? I’m sure Slats Grobnik would have bellied up to the bar at the Berghoff with many comments also.
There would have been suggestions for renaming other local institutions: perhaps the Field Museum becoming the Macy Museum, maybe Michigan Avenue becoming 5th Avenue.
