As we Chicagoans lament the passing of Berghoff’s, a tradition we grew up with, as it joins the ever-growing list of Marshall Field’s, Amoco, Dyche Stadium, etc., I am reminded of my dear late father who consoled me for almost 92 years with these words: Nothing is forever except God’s word.
