The Remy Bumppo Theater Company has announced its 2006-7 season–the troupe’s 10th anniversary. The company will produce Gore Vidal’s 1960 political drama “The Best Man” (Sept. 20 to Nov. 5), Tom Stoppard’s relationship-driven comedy “The Real Thing” (Nov. 15 to Jan. 7) and George Bernard Shaw’s problem play “Mrs. Warren’s Profession” (March 7 to April 22, 2007). Under the artistic direction of James Bohnen, Remy Bumppo performs at the Victory Gardens Theatre, 2257 N. Lincoln Ave. … Lookingglass Theatre Company’s teenage program will present “Knowing,” a personal look at experiences within the U.S. educational system at the Museum of Contemporary Art on Saturday. … Victory Gardens will extend its production of “Young Lady From Rwanda.” The show now will close on March 12. … Tim Curry, who portrayed King Arthur in “Spamalot’s” Chicago premiere, will reprise the role for the upcoming London production. … A new Las Vegas-style Rat Pack revue is said to be headed to the Royal George Theatre. More details to come. … Cate Plys, a local journalist who has specialized in City Hall politics, has written a new comedy. Penned with Carly Figliulo, co-founder of Chicago’s Transient Theatre, “White Hot Black Comedy” opens March 4 at the Athenaeum Theatre. It’s produced by the newly formed We’ll Show Them Theater company and Chicago producer Ken F. Levin. … “Menopause the Musical” is closing in New York in April, but shows no signs of leaving Chicago. … “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change” has one more month to play. It closes March 26 at the Royal George Theatre after 3,437 shows.
