Albert M. Lerner, 92, died June 1, 2006 in Naples, FL. Al was born in Chicago on St. Patrick’s Day, 1914. He attended Tilden High School. His family’s business, known as Lerner Foods, later became Lerner Certified. Al and his brothers expanded the business to three locations and became Pantry Shelf Markets. He served on the board of directors of the Certified Grocers of America (CGA). Al and his beloved wife of 67 years, Pauline “Snubbs”, nee Yankus, moved to Naples in 1973. He is survived by his loving family including his wife; son, Mike (Deb) of Biloxi, MS; daughter, Janet (Darby) of Atlanta, GA, daughter, Evie of Bend, OR; sisters-in-law, Pearl (Mickey) of Chicago and Flora (Alten) of St. Joseph, MI; four granddaughters, Lawrie (Bill) Hoesman, Stephanie (David) Thompson Lerner, Amanda and Joanne; and three great-grandchildren, Ben, Cody Lee and Phineas.
