A newborn taken from her parents’ home less than a week after birth was back in her mother’s arms Tuesday, and a 33-year-old woman was in custody.
Detectives found the little girl late Monday. A tip had led them to Stephanie Lynn Anderson Jones, and Jones led them to the baby, police said.
Jones was arraigned Tuesday on kidnapping and child abandonment charges and was being held in the Lubbock County Jail on $150,000 bond.
Late last week, Jones told the manager of her mobile home park that she had just had a baby.
“I said, `I didn’t even know you were pregnant.’ She said it was a small baby,” recalled Kloma Clark.
The baby’s mother, Erica Ysasaga, said Tuesday that the infant’s hair had been cut, possibly to pass her off as a boy.
