As the Christian right once again tries to ban gay marriage, I’m baffled by its contention that allowing gays to wed will destroy the institution of marriage.
The foundation of marriage is love, and we Christians believe that nothing is stronger than love.
In fact marriage has proved remarkably resilient, surviving centuries of heterosexual gold-diggers, philanderers, spouse beaters and even murderers.
If love and marriage survived despite spouses killing each other, just how will gays destroy them?
