This is regarding “Van eyes fastest speeders on Ryan; State police radars catch 1,200 in 11 days” (Metro, June 5). Three cheers to the Illinois State Police for issuing so many tickets early in the campaign to lower speeds in construction zones. Add more radar vans in all work zones AND use them outside work zones too!
As one who drives 45 m.p.h. in a 45 m.p.h. work zone, I say lower the tolerance to 5 m.p.h. over the posted speed limit.
