Edward and Lucy Held of Barrington have announced the engagement of their daughter Jennifer Maria to Gregory Joseph Shields, son of James and Joann Shields of St. Louis.
The future bride received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Catholic University of America. She is director of communications at Kaplan Inc.
The future groom received a bachelor’s degree in English literature from Indiana University and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Notre Dame. He is director of institutional sales at Next Generation Equity Research.
The couple have planned a Sept. 9 wedding at St. Anne Church in Barrington. They will reside in Chicago.
