She certainly did, and it could be argued those ads were her prime sources of professional visibility in the years between her appearance in the James Bond movie “Tomorrow Never Dies” and her current return to full-fledged stardom in the ABC series “Desperate Housewives.” The “Howie” in question was Howie Long, the pro football veteran turned Fox sportscaster.
– Is there going to be another “Big Brother”? If so, when will it start? –Kendra Colley, Patskala, Ohio
Indeed there will be, and this one will have quite a twist, since it’ll be the first edition to involve housemates who have played the game before. “Big Brother 7: All-Stars” premieres July 6 on CBS. Julie Chen will return as host, and viewers can help choose which returnees will participate via a “casting special” slated to air Wednesday, June 21.
– Unfortunately, I missed the finale of “7th Heaven.” Any chance of catching it again in the summer? –Naperville, Ill.
That’s pretty much guaranteed now, most likely in early September, since the thought-to-be-canceled series has gotten a reprieve from the CW network (the forthcoming merger of the WB Network and UPN). As you’ll see, there were enough threads left for the show to be able to pick up and continue.
– As a die-hard “Law & Order” fan, I miss the series “Law & Order: Trial by Jury” with Bebe Neuwirth. Is NBC planning to bring it back? –Jo Ann Stopka, Oswego, Ill.
No, but all the episodes that were produced are available in a boxed DVD set.
– I am writing to find out whether the show “Family Affair,” with Brian Keith and Sebastian Cabot, will be put on DVD. It was one of my favorite shows as a child. –Denise Pierce, Port Deposit, Md.
It will arrive on disc very soon, in fact. MPI Home Video is slated to release the first season of the sitcom June 27.
– Several years back, Richard Thomas played a lawyer on a television sitcom. It also featured a young woman whose character had been in prison, and he hired her as an investigator. Could you find out the name of the sitcom and the woman’s name? –Phil Menal, Scranton, Pa.
It was “Just Cause,” which aired on Pax when it was still called Pax, and it actually wasn’t so much a sitcom as a drama. The female lead was Lisa Lackey, who later had a recurring “NYPD Blue” role as an assistant district attorney who became involved with Mark-Paul Gosselaar’s character.
