If you go back to work after giving birth, you’re bad; if you stay home, you have no ambition; if you breast-feed too long, you are sick; if you don’t breast-feed long enough or at all, you are putting your child at risk. Why can’t we mothers just all love our children and raise them as we choose instead of being put under the microscope every step of the way? We have enough images out there to make us feel bad, from “perfect” celebrity moms to competition among kids in everything from sports to academics, that we don’t need to see a warning label on something that we need to feed our children.
