THURSDAY: Discovery docked with the International Space Station at 9:52 a.m. CDT and the seven shuttle astronauts were welcomed onto the space station at 11:30 a.m. CDT. They and the two station crewmen then began to transfer more than 5,000 pounds of supplies into the station. Before docking, the shuttle was piloted through a back-flip maneuver so the space station crew could photograph the tiles on the belly of Discovery.
FRIDAY: The transferring of supplies and hardware will continue and the Leonardo multipurpose logistics module is to be attached to the space station. Leonardo is designed to carry unneeded items from the station back to Earth.
