Though not as revelatory as 2004’s excellent “2nd Anniversary” mix, this new label-only compilation of electro-house tracks is just as inspired. GetPhysical’s best output balances subtle attention to sonic detail and big-room house anthems, and “Get Physical, Vol. 2” epitomizes this evocative groove. From DJ T’s ’80s playground-dance revival “Funk On You” to last year’s massive club anthem “Mandarine Girl,” M.A.N.D.Y.’s mix cannibalizes music history, from disco to downtempo, and molds it to an intricate, startlingly original template.
