Carol A. Shoop, 61, of Chicago and Las Vegas, formerly of Wilmette, beloved wife of Richard D.; loving mother of David (Melissa) and Laura (fiance David) Shoop; dear sister of Gretchen (Alan) Ahmer and Jill (Brian Schwartz) Anderson and sister-in-law of Barbara F. Lopeman; devoted daughter of Sofia Bowers and the late William Anderson; dear aunt of James H. Lopeman III, Matthew (Katie) Ahmer, Michael (Kristin) Ahmer and Griffin Schwartz. Graduate of Michigan State University with a Masters in Special Education. After college, Mrs. Shoop taught emotionally disturbed children. She was also a Real Estate Broker on the North Shore for 15 years. She was active with Heartland Alliance in Chicago and performed volunteer work with the Nevada Ballet in Las Vegas. Carol was devoted to her family and always encouraged them to pursue their dreams. She developed a wide circle of close friends who were an important part of her life. Carol was a lively spirit who touched everyone she met. Visitation Monday, 3 to 9 p.m., at Wm.H. Scott Funeral Home, 1100 Greenleaf Ave., Wilmette. Funeral Tuesday, 10 a.m., from the funeral home, to St. Joseph Church, 1747 Lake Ave., Wilmette, Mass 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Las Vegas, NV.
