Have you noticed how much noisier the CTA has become since [the rise of] the iPod and cell phones? (“CTA cell hell?” July 7 cover story.) I swear that every ride I take on the “L” or bus has at least one rider whose iPod is turned up so loud that I can hear his music across the train, above the noise of the train itself! Through his earphones! The CTA has a policy about loud devices, but obviously the perpetrators cannot hear anything but what we are hearing with them!
