Collin Finnerty, 19, a Duke University lacrosse player charged with raping an exotic dancer during a team party, was convicted of a misdemeanor in a separate assault last year on a bar patron in Washington, D.C. Finnerty was sentenced to six months’ probation after a two-day trial.
– The University of Illinois Board of Trustees will vote on a proposal Thursday in Chicago to extend athletic director Ron Guenther’s contract until Jan. 1, 2009, and grant him an immediate $90,000 raise that would put his salary at $500,000 per year.
