Angelo “Geno” Frighetto, age 90, a Naperville, IL resident for seven years, formerly of Chicago and Calumet City, IL, died Monday, July 10, 2006 at his home. He was born June 28, 1916 in Chicago. Angelo is survived by his wife Vivian R., nee Goeke Frighetto of Naperville, whom he married October 23, 1950; three daughters, Angela (Gary Hutchinson) Buratto of Mokena, IL, Gina Rodrigues of Maui, HI and Linda (Brian Hale) Frighetto-Hale of Naperville; eight grandchildren, Bonnie, Jane and Katie Buratto, Jesse and Justice Rodrigues, Trevor, Dylan and Mitchell Hale. He was preceded in death by his daughter Tina A. Frighetto; his parents Anthony and Maria, nee Pesavento Frighetto and four siblings. Angelo was born in Chicago and moved to Bassano del Grappa (Rosa), Italy at the age of four. He studied in Milan to be a tailor/designer and served in the Italian Army’s Alpine Corps. Angelo moved back to America in 1939 and served in the U.S. Army Air Force as an anti-aircraft gunner in the Aleutian Islands during World War II. After the war, he worked as a tailor for Raymond Levine Co., Chicago, before working at Sherwin-Williams Co., Chicago for the next 28 years, during which, he became sergeant of security. Angelo was a former member of St. Anthony Church, Chicago, St. Victor Church, Calumet City and was currently a member of St. Elizabeth Seton Church, Naperville. He lived a long and interesting life and was an amazing storyteller. Angelo was also a generous and gregarious man who devoted his life to his family. Visitation Saturday, July 15, 9 a.m. to Noon at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville. Funeral Services will follow at Noon in the funeral home. Interment SS.
