Robert Filson, 86, a longtime resident of Elmhurst, passed away July 18, in Duluth, GA. Beloved husband for 60 years of Ellen, nee Swanson; father of Mary Ann (Len) Bachkes and the late Robert Filson; father-in-law of Sherry Filson; grandfather of Caroline Bachkes, Charles Bachkes, Patrick Filson, Katie (Shane Gilman) Filson Gilman, Erin Filson, Maggie Filson and the late Brian Filson; great-grandfather of precious Aidan Gilman; brother-in-law of Lorraine Snyder and Joan Olson; also survived by many nieces and nephews who will miss “Uncle Bob”. He always had a kind word, a smile on his face and faith in his heart. His red hat will always be remembered by those who knew him and will go with him to his heavenly rest.
