He’s hip-hop’s equivalent of Michael Jordan, so why wouldn’t Jay-Z pull an MJ and unretire himself?
Rumors are swirling that the rapper plans to make good on his “Encore” lyric: “When I come back like Jordan/wearing the 4-5/It ain’t to play games wit you/It’s to aim at you, probably maim you.”
Last month, Jay-Z announced plans for an overseas tour and hinted at launching a comeback, “I go back and forth with [retirement],” he said. “I believe the industry as a whole needs certain events to happen to sustain it and keep it alive.”
Now the New York Daily News, citing a source, reports that Jay has been exchanging lyrics and beats through e-mails with Dr. Dre for a studio album. He also reportedly has been collaborating with Timbaland for the CD that would debut around Thanksgiving or early 2007, according to the newspaper.
