John Kass’ July 23 column, “Some lifelines can kill the defenseless,” about stem cell research, vividly reminded me of a quick line in the widely popular 1993 movie “Jurassic Park”: “Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn’t stop to think if they should.”

Thank you, Mr. Kass, for stopping. I wish more people, our lawmakers especially, would.
