Steven K. Scott has made millions creating TV infomercials that urge you to call in with your credit card and place an order, and he says he owes it all to King Solomon, the guy who wrote Proverbs in the Old Testament. He says the wisdom and advice of that book can make anyone more successful in business, relationships and life in general. So why can’t I get his job hawking junk out of my mind? Still, there are decent tips here:
1. Be diligent. That means working smarter, not just harder.
2. Keep a cool head. “Solomon describes the destructive power of anger as a downpour or a flood–`outrageous and overwhelming.'”
3. Nice guys and girls do finish first. “When others think of us, the first thought that should come to their mind is our kindness and our integrity.”
4. Write out your goals, along with step-by-step details of how you can reach them.
5. Don’t go it alone; seek advice and help. “Solomon tells us that without counsel, your purposes, plans, goals or work will be frustrated, disappointed or completely stopped.”
