Your recent article on bike path rules (“Battle on the lake path; Cyclists, joggers, in-line skaters, walkers–who has the right of way on the crowded lakefront?” At Play, Aug. 17) missed a few of my pet peeves:

– Runners who come out of the Lake Shore Drive underpasses at full speed: Keeping their heart rates up is more important than smashing into other human beings.

– Runners who don’t look before they spit: Does turning their heads to look increase their wind resistance and slow their pace?

– Tourists who stubbornly insist on walking on the wrong side of the bike path: This is America; we drive our cars on the right and we walk on the right side too.
