Fare well
We refuse to pack in our patio furniture, so we’ll have to chill with our cocktails–literally–a little longer. Things are a bit more organized at the MCA, where the last installment of Tuesdays on the Terrace closes out alfresco season on a high note. The music-and-mingle evening features live jazz from the Larry Frazier Band. Food and cocktails available for purchase. 5:30 p.m. Free. Museum of Contemporary Art, 220 E. Chicago Ave. 312-280-2660.
Think pink
If your sweet dreams tend toward the candy-coated variety, make haste to Streak Chicago Pink, a benefit for Y-ME Illinois and the Pink Streak marathon team. A pink chocolate fountain takes center stage, alongside appetizers, Budweiser beer, wine and entertainment by Gel. The best part: The feel-good buzz won’t make you crash and burn. (But we can’t make any promises about the chocolate fountain.) 7 p.m. $40-$50. Tickets: y-me.org/illinois. The Grand Central, 950 W. Wrightwood Ave. 312-364-9071.
Choose your own adventure
Don’t worry, this club doesn’t sport bathroom attendants, a dress code or any drunk patrons panting for your phone number. “Adventure Club” features comic duo Justin Jackson and Daryl Amandes performing sketch comedy and hip-hop songs (freestyle and written), while hosting a rotating lineup of stand-up, sketch and improv artists and troupes. 10 p.m. Through Oct. 17. $10. The Playground Improv Theater, 3209 N. Halsted St. 773-871-3793.
Global gear
OK, maybe Chicago isn’t the fashion hub of the galaxy, but we can still hang with the beautiful people, right? Leave your holey Cubs T-shirt in the closet and wear something slightly more cosmopolitan for World Fashion Chicago, a runway show featuring fashions from all of Chicago’s 25 international sister cities. A reception ($100) includes appetizers, champagne, music and a silent auction at 6 p.m. Fashion show at 7:30 p.m. Free. Millennium Park Rooftop Terrace, 205 E. Randolph St. 312-742-8497.

Key strokes
They might make you stand in the corner for playing footsies, but we suspect the tribe of scribes at this reading party won’t give a damn what you do on the sly. Creative nonfiction mag No Touching hosts “No Touching” After Dark: The United Colors of Nonfiction, with editors Ira Brooker and Molly Each, as well as contributions from Reading Under the Influence and The Dollar Store. 8:30 p.m. $5 donation. Phyllis’ Musical Inn, 1800 W. Division St. 773-283-2070.

Time for a fast
We know: You wonder if anyone goes to these things. But you also wonder why you always go home alone after a typical night at the bar. Maybe it’s time to take a chance on hooking up in an organized setting. Try a round of speed dating and meet other singles for quick dates. Includes appetizers and two drinks. 6 p.m. $35. Registration required: mix2matchinc.com. Sheffield’s, 3258 N. Sheffield Ave. 877-649-2006.
