– Oliver Stone criticized President Bush on Thursday, saying he has “set America back 10 years.” Stone added he is “ashamed for my country” over the Iraq war and U.S. policies in response to Sept. 11. “We have destroyed the world in the name of security,” he said at Spain’s San Sebastian film fest before a screening of his “World Trade Center.”

– Jeff Timmons of ’90s boy band 98 Degrees has pleaded no contest in Cape Canaveral, Fla., to charges of reckless driving and refusing to sign a citation and was sentenced to a year of probation. Timmons’ lawyers entered the plea Wednesday. The singer, 33, was ordered to undergo treatment for alcohol and substance abuse and must serve 50 hours of community service. He was pulled over in April for driving 60 m.p.h. in a 45-m.p.h. zone.
– Amanda Peet and screenwriter David Benioff, who are expecting a baby, will wed this weekend, the “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip” actress says. Peet told David Letterman on Wednesday that her pregnancy (she is four months along) earned her the nickname “Fatty” on the set of her show. “See, that’s not right,” he said. “That’s just not right.” “I think it’s really funny,” she replied.
