Hilda Pope, a resident of Wauconda, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2006 at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville at the age of 88. She was born Dec. 13, 1917 in Missouri. Hilda was a member of the St. Gilbert Church, the Wauconda Seniors Club and a former member of the Eagle River, WI S.E.R.V.E.. She lived most of her life in Palatine, retired to Eagle River, WI in the 1970’s, and for the past six years made her home in Wauconda. Hilda is survived by her sons, George (Donna), John (Marisue), David (Leslee) and James Pope; her eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A Funeral Mass is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2006 at 11 a.m. at St. Gilbert Catholic Church, 301 E. Belvidere Rd., Grayslake, IL in the small chapel. Friends of the family may visit on Monday, Oct. 9, 2006 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 410 E. Belvidere Rd., Grayslake, IL 60030.
