U.S. Soccer President Sunil Gulati said last week that the new U.S. head coach will be named in the next 30 to 60 days, but fans will not have to wait that long to find out who’s been offered the position. According to an interview in the German newspaper Bild am Sonntag, Roland Eitel–a Juergen Klinsmann adviser–Klinsmann has received offers from the U.S. and Mexican soccer federations, “And they’re all serious.” Though it appeared the former head coach of the German national team was once a lock to follow Bruce Arena, that’s no longer the case. Klinsmann has stated his interest in taking time off. When asked if Klinsmann would take either job, Eitel responded, “We’ll have to wait and see.”
