Edith K. Aloisio, 1127 Crown Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49006. Passed away Friday, Oct. 13, 2006. She was born July 19, 1914 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Peder and Johanna, nee Johansen, Sorensen and attended Chicago Public Schools, graduating from Carl Schurz High School. She married Samuel Aloisio in 1937. She and her husband spent their retirement years in Jones, MI. Edith was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Samuel; a son Robert; and three brothers, Harry, Richard, and Edward Sorensen. She is survived by her sons, Mike (Vanita) Aloisio of Kalamazoo, MI and Richard P. (Ruth) Aloisio of Sylacauga, AL; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Aloisio of Cassopolis, MI; 8 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Lorraine Sorensen of IL, Mary Miazga of TX, and Phyllis Bass of LA; brothers-in-law Michael J. Aloisio and Frances Aloisio, both of Chicago; 25 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren; and various nieces and nephews. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at Kanley Memorial Chapel, Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, MI on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2006, starting with a visitation at 1 p.m. and a service at 2:30 p.m., conducted by her nephew Richard Sorensen.
