– Is Jason Ritter related to John Ritter? –Kelly Smith, Grand Junction, Colo.

Indeed he is. One of the stars of CBS’ new Monday sitcom “The Class,” Jason is the eldest of the four children of the late “Three’s Company” Emmy winner.

– I am a big fan of “Big Love.” I heard it was coming back for a second season, but I do not see it listed on the fall schedule. Where is it? –Fred Bobb, Palm City, Fla.

It’ll be back, but not until 2007. Production on the HBO series resumed in August; Bill Paxton, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Chloe Sevigny and Ginnifer Goodwin all will be back in the Tom Hanks-produced show.

– Will Tom Selleck return as the police chief of the town called Paradise? –Ted Minter, Long Beach, Calif.

Yes, although at this writing, it wasn’t exact when that will be. Selleck’s first three TV movies as novelist Robert B. Parker’s character Jesse Stone earned strong enough ratings for CBS to order another one. Scheduling it could be a little tricky, since what used to be the network’s standard Sunday movie slot has been turned over to the series “Cold Case” and “Without a Trace” — but yes, there is another Stone mystery coming.

– Where has Jimmy Smits gone? –Brenda Tam, Honolulu

Now that his tenure on “The West Wing” has ended, along with that entire show, the Emmy winner is focusing on the series development deal he made with ABC before he was hired to play congressman — and eventual President-elect — Matt Santos on NBC’s White House drama.

– I’d like information on Michael Rosenbaum, who plays Lex Luthor on “Smallville.” Also, where could I write to him? –Martha Jo Howell, Dayton, Tenn.

The unmarried Oceanside, N.Y., native previously was a regular on “The Tom Show” (as in Tom Arnold) and “Zoe, Duncan, Jack & Jane.” He also has done cartoon voice-overs for shows including “Batman Beyond,” “The Wild Thornberrys,” “Jackie Chan Adventures,” “Static Shock” and “Justice League.” Among Rosenbaum’s movies are “Urban Legend,” “Sweet November,” “Bringing Down the House” and “Cursed.” You can send mail to him in care of Warner Bros. Television, 4000 Warner Blvd., Burbank, CA 91522.
