Kudos to the National Alliance on Mental Illness for its discouragement of “making fun” of people with mental illnesses through various reprehensible Halloween entertainment themes and commercial display venues. Mental illness needs positive images and public relations to remove the stigma that still haunts this disease–the only malady that exists in our enlightened world to be so maligned. Cancer, AIDS, multiple sclerosis, etc. sufferers would never be treated this way.
