Sweet: Sugar Bowl star Russell goes pro
LSU quarterback JaMarcus Russell will skip his senior season and enter the NFL draft. Despite outplaying Brady Quinn in the Sugar Bowl, Russell is still ranked behind the Notre Dame QB on the draft board of ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. But Kiper said that the Raiders may select Russell with the first pick. South Carolina sophomore wideout Sidney Rice and Arkansas juniors Jamaal Anderson (defensive end) and Chris Houston (cornerback) also will enter the draft.
Falcons lure Louisville’s Petrino
Louisville coach Bobby Petrino has accepted a five-year, $24 million offer from the Atlanta Falcons, moving to the NFL less than a week after the firing of Jim Mora.
Bode Miller misses again
