Theodore “Ted” Rummel, 88, passed away Jan. 10, born Nov. 11, 1918. He was the beloved husband of Georgina, nee Daleanes, and the late Lillian; devoted father of George Theodore (Kathleen) and S. Michael (Melanie); loving grandfather of Christopher, Jared, Haviland, Jessica and Jordan; dear brother of William (Zoe). Founder and Executive Emeritus of Rummel & Associates Insurance Agency. Ted was an insurance executive for 50 years, during which he touched the lives of 100’s with his kindness and sense of humor. His clients invariably became his close friends and depended upon him for his valued advice. As a devoted member of the Greek Orthodox Church, he served on the boards of St. Demetrios, Annunciation Cathedral and Assumption Churches. Ted was an active member of the American Legion Evzones Post #1039. He will be remembered for his wry smile, the twinkle in his eyes and his deep love for his wife and family. Family and friends will meet Saturday, at the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 601 S. Central Ave., Chicago, for a viewing from 10 a.m., until time of funeral services, 10:30 a.m. Visitation Friday, 3 to 8 p.m., at the Chapel Hill Gardens West Funeral Home, 17W201 Roosevelt Rd. (2 blocks west of Rt. 83), Oak Brook Terrace. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his memory to the Hellenic-American Museum, 801 W. Adams St., 4th Floor, Chicago, IL, 60607, would be appreciated.
