Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...
This is in response to “CTA to you: Find another ride” (Editorial, Jan. 15).
I find it ironic that the Chicago Transit Authority justifies its construction program on the Red and Brown Lines by promising to increase the system’s capacity.
The next stage of the program will reduce the system’s capacity for 2 1/2 years, and will double our commute times.
The CTA advises us to find other ways to get around.
Many people are going to take that advice.
Others will escape the nightmare by finding new jobs or new homes.
How many of those lost riders does the CTA think will return when the construction is over? That added capacity may not be needed for a long, long time.
