T.O.: Parcells ‘hurt us’

Cowboys wide receiver Terrell Owens (right) told the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram that coach Bill Parcells’ retirement was best for him and the Cowboys. “I am just hoping his retirement brings promise to what the team has to offer,” he said. “This past year was a big letdown. Hopefully, the owner will hire a coach to take the team to the next level.” Owens said he initially thought Parcells might be good for him, but his impression changed when Parcells didn’t offer any encouragement after Owens’ accidental overdose in September. “I still think he is a great guy, but he is like my grandmother. You love the person, but they are stuck in their old-school ways.” He added that Parcells’ coaching style “hurt us.”

Palmer: Bengals behavior getting ‘ridiculous’

Carson Palmer has had enough. After the latest arresting development in Cincinnati, the Bengals quarterback finally spoke out. In an interview with bengals.com, Palmer lit into the string of offenses that reached nine in the last 13 months with cornerback Johnathan Joseph’s arrest for marijuana possession Monday. “It has to stop,” Palmer said hours after he heard the news. “If it doesn’t stop, we’re not going to have any fans left, and I don’t blame them. It’s ridiculous.”
