Earl E. Soder, age 87, 48 year resident of Downers Grove, IL, died Jan. 24 in Napa, CA; beloved husband of the late Alice Soder, nee Lien; loving father of Sara (Mike) Logan of Oakland, CA, Dr. Kay (David Alderfer) Soder-Alderfer of Downers Grove, Lisa Soder of Napa, CA and Tom (Leigh Ann Haigler) Soder of Savannah, GA; cherished grandfather of Erik. Earl was retired from Arthur Andersen where he worked primarily in nonprofit organizations and hospitals, he also was the 1975 superintendant of Illinois State Fair. Visitation Sunday, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Adams-Winterfield & Sullivan Funeral Home, 4343 Main St. (1 blk S. of Ogden), Downers Grove. Funeral Monday, 9:30 a.m. in state until time of funeral services, 10:30 a.m. at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 4501 Main St., Downers Grove. Interment Clarendon Hills Cemetery.
