Applications are available for Schaumburg’s 14th annual Community Scholarship Program in cooperation with the Workforce Board of Northern Cook County and the Northwest Municipal Conference. Applications are available in the village president’s office at the Municipal Center, 101 Schaumburg Ct., or online at www.villageofschaumburg.com under “What’s New.” Applications along with two references are due at the village president’s office by 3 p.m. March 31. Scholarships are nonrenewable, will not exceed $1,000 and will be paid directly to the school for tuition, books and any other educational expenses. The Park Ridge Kiwanis-Noon Club will give two $1,000 scholarships to high school students graduating this year or a high school graduate up to age 21. Applicants must be a Park Ridge resident or a student at a Park Ridge school; maintain a B average both junior and senior year; be accepted to a technical school or college; and be active in the community through volunteer activities. McHenry County Sheriff Keith Nygren will award $500 scholarships through an Illinois Sheriffs’ Association program. Applicants must be full-time students and residents of the county.
