From affable hobbit to legendary rocker, Elijah Wood sure knows how to pick some far-out characters.
The star has just signed on to play renowned artist Iggy Pop in an upcoming biopic titled “The Passenger.” The movie will depict Pop’s earlier years while he was with his band the Stooges.
Fans won’t have to wait too long to see Wood incarnate Pop — filming will start within the next six months, and the flick is slated to be released the summer of 2008, reports Variety.
We here at RedEye think this film is just another reason for Wood to stretch his many acting muscles, albeit in a whole new direction. Because as many movies as the boy-wonder has been in, he hasn’t played one of the most influential rockers of all time. To prep for his role, we’d like to give Elijah a little inspiration, courtesy of imdb.com, and look back on his acting fetes of yesteryear.
