Allen Edward Campbell, beloved husband of June, nee Haerle; father of Jean Campbell (Bill Penton) and James (Belinda) Campbell; grandfather, of Ian, Harrison and Rowan Campbell; sister, of Jane Campbell (Theresa Carilli); and brother-in-law of Bill Haerle (Susan Bradshaw), passed away peacefully and unexpectedly at his home in Carmel, CA, May 8, 2007 at age 73. A 30-year resident of Wilmette, Allen served in the U.S. Navy, attended Indiana University before moving to Chicago in 1956. He began his professional sales career with the Chicago Daily News, joining Bock & Associates in 1979 and retiring as vice-president/regional manager in 1997. Allen’s spiritual journey began as a child in the Episcopal Church and especially deepened during his twenty-nine years in recovery. His philosophy of attraction versus promotion touched countless individuals in his personal and business life. He was preceded in death by his first wife Jean, nee Grandson, a son, Robert Campbell and sister, Ann McDermond, as well as his father, Russell Campbell, mother Mary Allen Campbell, and beloved in-laws Elmer and Jean Grandson and Eleanor Haerle.
