Rita C. Walsh, 88, of Benicia, CA, passed away Wednesday night in a local hospital. She was born in Chicago and was a resident of Brookfield, IL before moving to Arkansas in 1994 and to Benicia in 1998. She was a housewife. Rita was a member of T.O.P.S. and the Benicia Senior Citizens. She enjoyed playing Bingo, doing the daily crossword puzzle in pen and was a passionate democrat. Rita is survived by her daughter, Donna (Bob) Morgan of Benicia; sons: John Jack (Gloria) Walsh of Mundelein, IL and Tom Walsh of Brookfield, IL; brother, James (Mary) Walsh of Westchester, IL; grand children: Jack, Carrie, Colleen, Hillary and Heather Walsh and Bob (Jessica) Morgan, Samantha Morgan and Brittany Morgan; great grandchildren: Madison Bein and Kayla and Ayden Walsh; and numerous nieces and nephews. Rita was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Walsh in 1974. Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Passalacqua Funeral Chapel, 901 West Second St., Benicia, CA. Inurnment will be in St. Dominic’s Cemetery. Family prefers donations to the American Lung Association.
