Earl George Lohn, 98, of Douglasville, GA, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2007 at Wellstar Douglas Hospital in Douglasville, GA. He was born Nov. 24, 1908 in Chicago, IL. He was the son of the late Mr. Fred Andrew Lohn and the late Mrs. Alma Dorthea Steging Lohn. Mr. Lohn was a retired millright mechanic for Western Electric, and a member of the United Church of Christ. He was also a member for over seventy years of the Masonic Temple of Douglasville and was acknowledged as “Mason of the Year” of the 5th District. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by, his wife Mrs. Helen Carter Lohn, a twin brother, Robert A. Lohn, and a sister, Gertrude E. Winterberg. Survivors include daughter, Linda Mikos of Douglasville, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Glenn C. and Carole Lohn of Saxonburg, PA; six grandchildren and their spouses, Scott (Jennifer) Mikos of Texas; Glenn (Sandy) Mikos of Villa Rica, Tim (Melissa) Mikos of Villa Rica, Barbara (Jim) Van Namen of Florida, Andrew (Elizabeth) Lohn of Pennsylvania and Joshua Lohn of Virginia; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at 1 p.m. at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, in Douglasville, GA with cremation following. The Masonic Lodge will conduct Masonic rites on Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at 7 p.m. from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, GA. The family will be receiving friends in the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Tuesday, May 29, 2007 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.jones-wynn.com.
