John L. McGowan, of Wilmette, formerly of South Shore, passed away Monday, May 28, 2007, beloved husband for 58 years to the late Audrey McGowan, nee Dodson; loving father of Mark L. (Nancy) McGowan; dear grandfather of Elizabeth S. and J. Matthew McGowan; fond brother of Donna McGowan and the late Martin V. McGowan and the late Sr. Thomas Ellen McGowan, O.P.; brother-in- law of the late Francis Ellis (Dorothy) Dodson; cherished uncle of many nieces and nephews.
