*Isaiah Washington, the “Grey’s Anatomy” co-star who publicly used a homophobic slur earlier this year, will not be returning to the popular ABC series, after the studio confirmed Friday that it was not renewing his contract. All of the other series regulars — including Katherine Heigl and T.R. Knight, whose public statements had fueled speculation about their futures on the show — will be back.

*The American Film Institute honored Al Pacino on Thursday with its Life Achievement Award, leaving the 67-year-old actor practically speechless. “I need a character,” Pacino said at L.A.’s Kodak Theatre, overwhelmed with emotion. “I don’t think of myself as being able to do anything.”
