Veteran left-handed pitcher David Wells has reached a tentative agreement with the Dodgers.
The 44-year-old, who was released by the Padres earlier this month, is expected to make his first start for the Dodgers on Sunday night against the Mets.
Wells is 5-8 with a 5.54 ERA this season but struggled in his final four starts with San Diego with a 0-3 mark and a 14.33 ERA.
The Dodgers will pay Wells a prorated portion of the league’s minimum salary with the Padres absorbing the rest of his $3 million guarantee.
